Song Notes

I thought it would be useful to write down some notes and questions about our songs. For me, the beginning and the end of some of our songs is not well defined in terms of when the drums enter or when they stop, so I've started some notes and questions about this below.

Feel free to pose other questions/comments.

All My Loving

Intro: Since I still can't count in with the 1-2, 1234, we usually start this song with me playing two bars to set the tempo.

Close: We nail the closing, since the music makes it crystal clear when to end the song.

Just What I Needed

Intro: Miki starts this song. It would be useful for me if someone does a four count before he starts playing since I can rarely hear him actually start, making it difficult for me to get the count right. Can someone do a four count before he starts (just to the band, not over the microphones)?

Close: Sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't :).

Dynamics: Intro should be played fucking loud, verses softer, chorus fucking loud.

Zombie

Intro: Miki plays four bars, and I enter on the 3rd count of the 4th bar. UPi should count us in since this song is painfully slow, and the urge is to always play it faster.

Close: We get this most of the time.

Other Notes: At the moment, this is my least favorite song to play. I don't mind playing it, but I don't like it too much, so if anyone else feels the same please speak up.

Time Only Knows

Intro: I think this song begins with both the bass and the drums playing at the same time. I propose someone doing a 4 count, or UPi playing two bars before the drums enter.

Close: I never know when to end this song. Any cues I should listen for in our version that singnal the end?

Dynamics: Any notes about dynamics?

Love Me Two Times

Intro: There should be a four bar intro with the guitar and the bass, but I think that only UPi plays the intro. Is this correct? UPi, how many bars do you play to start?

Those Fucking Triplets: According to my notes, the triplets go something like this (not exactly sure how to notate them, so just listed the beats played):

End Verse 1: 5
End Verse 2: 5 two bars then 11
End Solo: 11
End Verse 3: 5
End Outer Chorus/Song: 5 two bars then 11 two bars then 11 two bars then 6

Does this look right?

Dynamics: Drums are played softly.

Le megy a nap

Intro: UPi, when do you want drums to enter on this song?

Close: Close is okay.

Soul Meets Body

Intro: We definitely need a count in for this song since Miki and I are supposed to start at the same time. UPi, how about counting us in (again, just to the band, not over the mics)?

Close: Ends the way it began but without the drums. I'll learn when to stop playing (maybe :))
